As far as known, Willem-Alexander and Maxima last met Prince Philip in November 2015. The Royals then traveled to London on Sunday for remembrance. The king placed a garland to thank the British for their part in the liberation of the Netherlands, seventy years ago in 2015.

The royal couple paid a state visit to the United Kingdom in 2018. Prince Philip was not involved in the public program of the visit. Elizabeth’s husband retired in the summer of 2017 and has since appeared publicly in family matters such as her grandchildren’s weddings. Philip’s last state tour was in July 2017 of Spain’s King Felipe and Queen Letizia.

Willem-Alexander and Maksima’s most recent official visit to the United Kingdom was in 2019, when the king was installed a knight in the Order of the Garter. Prince Philip was also a knight in that order, but as far as is known he was not present at the time of the establishment of Willem-Alexander.
