Competing JioFiber in Broadband Speed While JioFiber continues to lead as measured by the Netflix ISP Index in March 2021, it also connects to Internet service providers (ISPs) such as AirtelXStream, ACT and Tata Sky, who have an average speed of 3.6 Mbps Also provided. JioFIber has led the Netflix ISP chart for the last six months, offering a new offering to give their semi-annual and annual broadband plans an additional 15 days and 30 days validity.
According to the streaming giant, the Netflix ISP Speed Index is a measure of prime-time Netflix performance at designated Internet service providers (ISPs) worldwide. Netflix also notes that the ISP Speed Index is not a measure of the overall performance of services or other data that can be sent to specific ISP networks.
Last year, Jio launched fiber optic broadband plans starting at Rs 399 after becoming a domestic work culture for people across the country. Other ISPs followed suit. AirtelXStream started offering unlimited internet and also started offering broadband subscriptions starting at Rs 399. Exitel has also started offering subscription for Rs 399 with an annual subscription.
Returning to the Netflix ISP index, JioFiber, Airtel, ACT, Tata Sky 7 Star Digital, Alliance Broadband, Excitel Broadband, GTPL, Hathway, SPECTRA, Syscon Infoway and You Broadband were second at 3.2 Mbps.
NXTDIGITAL had one broadband service at 3Mbps, followed by state telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), D-Vois and Tikona at 2.8 Mbps, ranking third in Netflix’s ISP index. MTNL ISP had 2.4 Mbps at the bottom.
With the country reaching the index, India finished second with Argentina, Austria, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, France, Greece, Italy, Paraguay, Poland, Taiwan, Trinidad and Tobago and Uruguay with a speed of 3.2 Mbps.
It was ranked first in the following countries with an average speed of 3.4 Mbps: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, South Korea.
