Inheritance: This section has three movesets for you to choose from. By default, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 lets you use all the gameplay features you’d expect, such as reverses, spinal transfers, and more. However, you can limit yourself to older school movesets if you prefer.

Help: You can enable the following options to make the game easier to play. It’s initially great when they get their skater legs. Note that enabling any of the following means your scores will not be uploaded to the leaderboards.

  • Perfect Rail Balance – Toggle it and you don’t have to keep your balance when you get bored.
  • Perfect Manual Balance – Toggle it and you don’t have to keep your balance while manually.
  • Perfect lip balance – Toggle it and you don’t have to keep your balance when performing lip techniques.
  • Always Special – Toggle it and your special meter will always be full.
  • No bail – Toggle it and you will never fail a strategy.

Use reverses and manuals to extend the combo

This is fairly basic stuff, but newbies should get in the habit of doing reversals and manuals. Using these abilities, you can string the strategies together and continue the combo for an amazingly long time. This way you can make up a few thousand or even millions of points at once. When descending on a vertical ramp, press R2 to hit the ramp to do exactly the same. Hit manuals are pressed down on the D-pad. You can press down on the nose for the manual. Combine these strategies, you can create some insane scores.

Keep your board forward while landing

This may seem obvious but you need to confirm the lines on your skateboard with the direction of your trip. If you climb up a ramp on a vertebrae and turn around a bit, make sure you are facing the right way before getting off, otherwise you will fail the strategy. The same applies to flat ground. If your wheels are not facing properly, you are going to bail, which could cost you a ton of points.

Mix your strategies

If you want to achieve these really big scores, you need to keep things diverse. The tricks will lose the value of the points every time you repeat the point, which means you won’t get on the leadboards just catch the kickflips and melon spam Use your full arsenal of tactics and skills while pulling combos to get more points. Change the directional inputs to drive different strategies and memorize a few special techniques to throw the mixture. Variety is the spice of life and it is the key to high scores.

Straighten up with R2

Sometimes, you’ll find yourself hitting the ground, and you won’t get off your board going If you hit a vertical ramp but travel to a flat surface, there’s a way to rearrange yourself so you don’t bail. Hold the R2 and your skater will straighten, place the skateboard under you and land you safely uring

If in doubt, grand brick out

You’ll usually be able to tell where you’re going in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 but sometimes you may find yourself in an awkward position. Our advice is to hold the triangle if you are flying through the air and not sure where you are landing. The triangle is how you pull the lip techniques, grinds and wallrides, so it’s a great versatile button and you can sometimes use it as a bit of a safety net. If you hold the triangle there is a fairly good chance you will style it with a grind or wallride. It’s certainly not guaranteed, but the game’s levels are full of curbs, rails and vertical surfaces, so it works more than you might think.

The walls are not the enemy

If you’re heading towards a wall, you might think it’s the end of your combo. In fact, the walls are an opportunity to continue a combo. By pressing the triangle, you can perform a wallride as mentioned above, but you can also make a wall tree. Suppose you are going to a flat wall in disgust. Jump off the rails and, when you are about to collide with the wall, press X and you will perform a wall plant. It will throw you off the wall and push you back in the opposite direction.
