WhatsApp launches new shopping feature that could be really bad for your bank balance

WhatsApp recently announced that more than 100 billion messages a day are sent through the chat service. Now the Facebook-owned company wants to use this simple way of communicating to help users buy things from the business. Yes, instead of trolling through online titles and endless webpages, you’ll soon be able to order directly from your favorite frames via chats.

This new feature, which can be very bad for your bank balance, is called Curts and provides an easy way to purchase multiple items from an online or local store.

Carts allow people to browse a catalog, select multiple products, and send orders to businesses as a message. WhatsApp hopes it will make it easier for businesses to monitor order searches, manage requests from customers and close sales.

“From today, we’re interested in bringing carts to WhatsApp. Cars are great when it comes to sending messages to sell multiple items at once, like a local messaging or clothing store.”

The feature comes as WhatsApp recently partnered with RJ Balson & Son, Britain’s oldest-run butcher, at Bridport in Dorset.

The 505-year-old butcher is turning to WhatsApp to help them handle their turkey and other zealous orders during their busiest time of the year.

Talking about how the way we do business with customers has changed, RJ Balson & Son’s master butcher Richard Balson said: “We may be the oldest business and butcher in the country but we are always looking for ways to innovate.

“Using WhatsApp Business, we hope to make the best of this year’s very different Christmas and make sure we get as much of our famous meat as possible to the customer. Kovid-11 has undoubtedly damaged our business, but if we can survive the fire, Floods and even wars I’m confident we’ll be in a stronger position in our 506th year! “
