Bookings to Greece surge as British holidaymakers flee Spain

British holidaymakers are flocking to Greece in lieu of Spain as the busiest month for summer time holiday seasons receives underway.

The chairman of Sunvil Holiday break Group, Noel Josephides has reported a unexpected increase in enquiries for ‘last-minute, flight-only’ bookings to Greece, and not from the firm’s normal 50-furthermore demographic. “We know they are folks who ended up probable to go to Spain,” he told iNews.

It comes as Europe’s biggest tour operator Tui extended the cancellation of all British isles holiday seasons to the Spanish Balearic Islands and Canary Islands right until August 10 and all holiday seasons to mainland Spain right up until August 17.
