Qualcomm introduces its new mid-range SoCs

The US founder has revealed new specs that will be equipped with around 85 new smartphone models to arrive in the coming months.

The world seems to be facing an unprecedented shortage of chips. However, looking at the latest news from the makers, the finding doesn’t seem so clear. Be it Apple and its homemade computer chips, Google with the Tensor chip from the Pixel 6, or even Samsung, Huawei and soon Oppo, most manufacturers have serious ambitions in this area.

However, Qualcomm, the king of SoCs for smartphones, doesn’t intend to let it go. To show off his lead, the American founder has just unveiled a slew of new chips for mid-range mobiles. we get like this Snapdragon 778G Plus 5G, Snapdragon 695 5G, 680 4G and Snapdragon 480 Plus 5G.

Most of these chips rely on the new generation of mobile networks, 5G. This is the great novelty of these chips, which are ultimately just improved versions of the SoC present in Qualcomm. We still notice a decent performance boost on some of them, such as the Snapdragon 695 5G which offers 30% more performance on its graphics.

These new chips will be available in about 85 devices from Xiaomi, Motorola, Nokia, Honor, Oppo or Vivo in the coming months. “We are delighted to adopt the new Snapdragon 778G Plus 5G and Snapdragon 695 5G mobile platforms, which will allow the whole world to get a taste of 5G, but also improve AI and a more immersive gaming experience” In announcing these new chips from Qualcomm, said the Vice President of Xiaomi.
