Liverpool shooting: 19-year-old killed in ‘cold-blooded’ shooting

A 19-year-old man has been shot dead in a “cold bloodbath” on the streets of Liverpool.

Emergency services rushed to the village of Stockbridge in Nowsale at 30.30 this evening after news of a shooting broke.

Before the armed police and paramedics arrived at the scene, people in the area heard a number of ‘loud noises’.

A young man was seen lying on the street with ‘deadly gunshot wounds’. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, nothing could be done to save him and he died on the spot.

A detective said those responsible for the victim’s death “understood exactly what they were doing and should be caught.”

This evening, before the armed police and paramedics arrived at the scene, people in the area were hearing several “loud noises.”

Merseyside police have launched an investigation into the murder, but no arrests have been made yet.

This is the second teenage murder in North West London since a 17-year-old man was stabbed to death.

Detectives Tony O’Brien said: ‘It was a cold blooded, targeted attack on a residential street that took the life of a young man and tonight a family is mourning their tragic wounds.

‘The people responsible for this attack knew exactly what they were doing and they needed to be caught

‘There is no place in Merseyside for firearms, or those who use them and create fear in our community. We need the public to come forward with information so that we can keep our roads safe. “

He added: “You may not think the information is important, but it can help us in our search.”
