The crucial cricket Test match between England and India has been called off following the outbreak of COVID-19 among the visiting team.

Game 5 was scheduled to take place at Old Trafford at 11 am today, with the series against India set up 2-1.

But spectators canceled a training session on Thursday before the game after a member of their support staff tested positive for the coronavirus.

Head coach Ravi Shastri also tested positive in India’s fourth Test Oval win last week.

The England and Wales Cricket Council (ECB) said in a statement: “Due to fears of a further increase in the number of COVID cases inside the camp, India cannot field a team and will unfortunately miss the match. .
