In a heartbreaking turn of events, young Victoria Pasten-Morales from Arizona has undergone multiple amputations after being struck by a deadly bacterial infection. The second-grader was diagnosed with Group A Streptococcus, leading to a series of eight surgeries to save her life.
It all started with a fever and vomiting, but soon escalated as Victoria’s lips and hands turned blue, signaling a serious decline in her health. Rushed to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, doctors had to make the difficult decision to amputate both of her feet and her right hand in order to stop the infection from spreading.
Facing an unexpected medical emergency, Victoria’s family has been hit with a financial burden. To help alleviate some of the costs, a GoFundMe has been set up in their name. Despite the challenges they are facing, Victoria’s parents remain by her side, describing her as a strong and brave warrior as she fights through this ordeal.
