‘William and Kate positioned to keep Scotland in UK’

Freedom is once again high on the political agenda. According to an insider, the royal family fears politicians are ‘losing Scotland’.

Scots chose to remain with the UK in 2014, but many want a new independence referendum. There is much discontent in the region over Brexit, which a large majority of Scots voted against in 2016.

William and Kate will now be asked to spend more time at Balmoral, the royal family’s summer home in Scotland. They should start reducing it more like a full house and more like a vacation spot.

It has also been suggested that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge reunite with the city of St Andrews, where they had met years earlier at the university. “They should come across as residents, not visitors,” says an insider.

The pair should be used as a ‘visible symbol of the bond between England and Scotland’. William could probably play that role better than British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. According to the newspaper, a recent poll shows that 71 percent of Scots hold a negative view of Johnson, while 69 percent are positive about the prince.

The pro-independence camp in Scotland has already made it clear that it does not want royal interference. Former Scottish Prime Minister Alex Salmond recently suggested that his ‘desperate’ ideological opponents were trying to sway the prince to his side. According to British media, he called on the royal family to stay above politics.
