The founding ceremony of the new management team of the Community Space Task Force (ECOWAS) on the Trade Liberalization Plan took place this Tuesday, December 14, 2021 in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), in the Multipurpose Room of the Presidency of Faso.
Chaired by the head of state of Burkinabe, Roch Marc Christian Kabore, it involved a handover between the first and second team, which typically consisted of seven members. The president of Faso also invited the new team to work “so that the pillar of unification, which is free movement, is effective in all our states”.
“The Task Force under the ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme, the main operating tool in the trade facilitation in the West African sub-region, was created by regulation on November 25, 2015 with the mission of ensuring the effectiveness of the free movement of people and goods in the community sector. In particular, through arbitration and amicable settlement of disputes between Member States, as well as through pleadings and arbitrations with the political authorities of the States, he took note of the recall.
