US President-elect Joe Biden has spread his ankle after slipping while playing with his dog, according to his doctor.
In a brief statement, Biden’s office said the incident happened on Saturday and that the cau-year-old child was being examined by a bone specialist on Sunday “due to extreme caution”.
Biden later met with an orthopedic specialist in Newark, Delaware. According to his physician Kevin O’Connor, Biden is holding the spray on his right foot and “the initial X-ray assures there are no obvious fractures”, he will get a CT scan for further review.
Journalists traveling with him grabbed him on a bus and did not see him in the building.
Bien, the oldest person to take over as US president when he is sworn in next year, and his health allies and opponents alike will be able to keep a close eye on him, he said.
Biden was playing with two German shepherd majors in his family – he was expecting the first rescue dog to live in the White House.
Biden and his wife, Jill, won their first dog champ since the 2008 election and took over the Major in 2018. Biden said they would bring the dog to the White House and also plan to get a cat.
Biden has often dismissed questions about his age along the way. He published a doctor’s report in December stating that he had taken statin tablets to keep his cholesterol at a healthy level, but his doctor described him as “healthy, strong” and “fit to carry out the presidency successfully.”
