Two regional high schools participated in the second science challenge

On 12 and 13 October, 117 students from the Polyvalente La Samare and 46 students from the cole Secdre Monique-Proulx took part in the second science challenge organized by the Natural Sciences Program of the Segpe de Victoriaville in collaboration with the ‘Ministry of Education and Higher Education’.

Under the theme “Un uf”, a whole program awaited Secondary 3 and 4 students who came to Segpe for the event. These activities, combined with a scientific flavour, allowed him to experiment with scientific concepts and principles in science-friendly premises and laboratories. This challenge, in which young people took part, allowed them to live a fun and stimulating experience while allowing them to discover a hidden aspect of science and discover some of the professions that are sometimes unfamiliar to the scientific field. In fact, the students had to perform various scientific experiments as a team to gain access to the padlock code, which allowed them to open boxes containing the materials needed to build the racing car. The DeFi Science Project is the result of a collaboration between CEGEP, the Bois-Francs School Services Center, the National School of Furniture and Cabinet Making, and Innovum, one of three collegiate technology transfer centers affiliated with CEGEP. It aims to introduce the next generation to various scientific and technological fields.
