The latest series of graphics cards has arrived on Nvidia. And while RTX 3080 pre-orders were unfortunately not available to secure any cards before release, you can now pick up a new Ampere Series graphics card from a wide range of retailers as we arrive on September 17th at 2pm BST (9am) PT) Date of publication.
Since their announcement in early September, many of us have been excited to get our hands on the new Nvidia RTX 3080 graphics cards. Sitting between the RTX 3070 and the RTX 3090, the RTX 3080 is located in a similar spot to the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Super as a high-choice.
If you’ve been here to buy the RTX 3080, you’ve probably seen the excitement surrounding the card so far – especially after the significant number of early digital foundry benchmarks, which showed gains of up to 90 percent in a given time compared to the outgoing RTX 2080 in 4K resolution.
Fortunately, these results have been backed up following a more in-depth review of Digital Foundry’s RTX 3080, with strong performances in a variety of titles and multiple resolutions. If you’re considering upgrading to a GTX 10-Series card, such as the prestigious GTX X 1080, you’ll see almost twice the frame-rate of many games in 4K. This suggests that the card may soon join our round-up of the best graphics cards.
So, if available with a variety of card availability you will find the digital foundry suggested picks below – whether they come directly from Nvidia or a number of different partners. The lists are going to be scarce at the moment, but we are starting to get a clearing picture of the availability of the RTX 3080 as we get closer to release.
Remember, with any RTX 3080 order you will also receive a free copy of Watch Dog Legion and a 12-month subscription to GeForce Now.
What is the price of RTX 3080?
According to Nvidia, the RTX 3080 will start at 700 / £ 650 / € 700. This may increase depending on the retailer and the specification of the card as other partner versions may get some factory overclocking to increase performance. However, the Nvidia Founders version will be at the stated price – compared to previous generation cards, which came at the premium FE model.
Where can you buy RTX 3080?
You can now buy the RTX 3080 from many major US and UK retailers, which we have summarized in a simple table below. The stock is expected to sell out quickly, so if you can’t order from your usual preferred store, consider checking out a second or third retailer.
We also saw that Scan, in particular, would purchase RTX 3080 and RTX 3080 PCs on PayPal Credit at 0 percent interest-free money for 48 months. If you are able to keep the promise of this kind of payment plan and are comfortable, it can be a good way to spread the price of expensive GPU.
Of course, you can also buy the RTX 3080 on the Nvidia website, where you will be able to get the exclusive installer version of the card.
What about the fully pre-built RTX 3080 PC?
We don’t have any specifications about it yet but we do see PC retailers such as the Scan and Gladiator PCs offering the new RTX 3080 feature fully pre-built PC for those who want to completely upgrade their setup. If any of these builds look particularly compelling or good value for money we’ll try to share them with you here.
This is information about the RTX 3080 order so far. Of course, we will return these pages regularly to update all the best RTX 3080 prices when they are available and as soon as we find them.
