Swansea City have reportedly made a bid of £3 million to bring Ghanaian full-back Andy Yiadom to the Premier League.
The 25 year-old endured an excellent season under Barnsley manager Paul Heckingbottom following his move from Barnet last summer on a free transfer.
The full-back featured on 32 occasions last season, as well as producing three assists for the Tykes.
And according to reports from The Sun, Swansea have made a £3 million bid for the Ghanaian, after their first bid was rejected for the player.
Yiadom has seen his career go from strength to strength following his move to Barnsley last season, and his extraordinary rise could see him playing Premier League football next season.
The full-back’s talent has not gone unnoticed, with Championship outfit Reading also after his services, as well as newly-promoted Huddersfield Town, however the Tykes have rejected three bids from the Terriers for the former Watford youth player.
It is believed David Wagner was willing to spend £2 million to take him to the John Smith’s stadium, however Barnsley were refusing to budge on what their fellow Yorkshire rivals were offering.
His fine form last season earned him a call-up to the African Cup of Nations, where he played one game for Ghana - the full-back currently has two international caps to his name, which is some achievement for a player who was playing Non-League football just two years ago.
With Paul Clement looking to improve his squad over the summer, Yiadom could be the perfect fit for his side in the full-back position - and will only add to the options he has within his disposal, with the full-back able to operate on either flanks.
