Swansea City are believed to be interested in the services of Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.
The 31 year-old has played in the Premier League before whilst playing for Manchester City between 2013 and 2015.
However, the former Sevilla star saw opportunities limited at the Ethiad Stadium and the forward made just 32 appearances, scoring on nine occasions.
And according to WalesOnline the Swans have been in talks to bring the striker back to SA1 as Paul Clement looks to bolster his attack ahead of the new Premier League season.
Negredo joined Manchester City from Sevilla for a fee of £16.4 million plus add-ons following four successful years at the Sevillistas, where he scored a total of 70 goals in 139 games, including 25 goals in his final season at the club.
However, Negredo failed to make the grade at Manchester City the last time he played in the Premier League and has since returned to Spain with Valencia, where he has scored a mere 10 goals in 55 appearances, and the forward was part of the Valencia team which finished 12th in La Liga last season.
With the Swans keen on bringing him back to the Premier League, it could be just what the striker needs as he looks to rejuvenate his footballing career, and he could well act as a replacement for Fernando Llorente, if Chelsea decide to pursue with a deal for the 32 year-old.
If Negredo can replicate the form he showed during his four-year spell at Sevilla then he could provide to be an astute signing for Paul Clement’s men.
