Mario’s famous “Gay Bowser” line is not in the Super Mario 3D All Star version of Super Mario 3D4 – and fans are saying goodbye sadly.

Fans have spent years trying to figure out what this conversation is about – or if it sounds right. Time passed, the line became a meme, and we all moved on.
Until April 2019, when Mario’s voice was adopted by Charles Martinet Twitter Mario insists “King Bosser for so long!”, But no one buys it. A fan retrieval released in July 2020 makes it sound more like Mario saying “gay bosser”.

As reported by Kotaku, Mario can’t pick something out of the “gay bowser” or the Marto 64 that is on the Nintendo Switch in the Super Mario 3D All-Stars. Instead, Mario says “Bu-bye!” He threw the Boser as he did, and, apparently, mimicked the Nintendo Super Mario 64 Shindo Pak Taiu version for the collection.
The lesser-known Super Mario 64 Shindo Pak Taiu version was released in Japan in 1997, a year after the original, and there are some key differences. One of them said Mario “Bu-bye!” When he threw Bousser, and probably because Boser is known as King Cooper of Japan and so had to replace the “Gay Bowser” line.
