American tennis star Serena Williams had a “date” at Wimbledon on Tuesday, revealing her return to competition at the tournament she won seven times on her Instagram account.

“SW (for Serena Williams, Ed) and SW 19 (Pincode of Wimbledon). it’s a date ! See you,” wrote the former world number 1, aged 40, below a photo of his tennis shoes on the lawn.
His last match is in the first round of the 2021 edition, where he had to give up due to a thigh injury.
She has since dropped to 1208th in the world rankings and will therefore need one of the “wild cards” (invitations from the organisers), which are to be announced on Wednesday.
It is also not certain if she will line up in singles. She might like doubles, which she won six times with her sister, or even mixed doubles, which she already tried out with Andy Murray in 2019.
Upon its publication, the youngest of the Williams sisters, Eastbourne also mentions the tournament which is played the week before Wimbledon, without any further details.
Serena Williams’ last title in London is from 2016, but she reached the finals in 2018 and 2019.
