#Senegal : The President of the Republic of Senegal thanked on Saturday, his colleagues of the African Union for the “ unanimous choice ” over Senegal to ensure the Union’s rotating presidency for the period 2022-2023.
Senegal will serve as the rotating chair of the African Union (AU) in 2022-2023.
The rotating chair of the AU is headed by the head of state or government of the member country of the organization for a period of one year.

Felix Tsekkedi, president of the Democratic Republic of Congo, was chosen by his African counterparts to lead the institution during the year. He succeeded South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The Head of State tweeted, “I congratulate President Felix Tsekedi as the Head of the Union for the period 2021 – 2022 and thank President Cyrilmarfosa.”
The 34th AU summit was marked by the re-election of Chadian Moussa Faki Mahamat as the head of the Central Commission. He was the only candidate to run.
