March 29, 2021 – Queen Elizabeth of Cunard will resume operations in the summer of 2021. The shipping company is preparing its ship for operation and will ship it on ten cruises along the British Isles and three so-called “sun trips” from July to October 2021. However, there is a downfall: travel can only be booked for guests staying in Great Britain who have been vaccinated against Kovid-19.
The German representative of the traditional shipping company noted in a press release today that weather reports and sunshine forecasts determine where the trip around Great Britain is going. Currently travel is only allowed in the UK. Queen Elizabeth’s guests live in Britain and should be vaccinated against Kovid-19. Because of the current demand for such visits and the well-advanced vaccination program in Great Britain, Coonard decided to offer the visit.

During cruises, all guests and crew are urged to follow advanced health and welfare measures to protect everyone on board. The program was developed in close consultation with experts, health professionals and scientists, and with UK government agencies. In some areas of the ship, strong hygiene measures, proper social distinctions and wearing of face masks are mandatory. It goes without saying that the crew is also subject to strict testing and quarantine rules during their time on board. The name of the voyages suggests that there is no halt in the ports. In this regard, the shipping company’s statement is unclear.
