Othman Gerandi meets with UK Ambassador to Tunisia

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and the Tunisian Foreign Minister, Othman Gerandi, received Edward Oakden, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Tunisia, on Friday, marking the end of his mission as the head of the British delegation to Tunisia.

This comes from a press release from the Department of Foreign Affairs, as reported by the agency Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP/official).

On this occasion, the British diplomat reiterated his country’s readiness to continue supporting Tunisia, welcoming the level of cooperation and consultation between the two countries on regional and international issues of common interest.

For his part, Gerandi praised the level of Tunisian-British relations over the past decade, as well as the support the United Kingdom has extended to Tunisia.

They stressed the need to continue bilateral consultations with a view to strengthen cooperation in various fields and culminate new partnerships.

According to the press release, the meeting was an opportunity to exchange views on regional issues and international geo-strategic developments.

The two sides agreed to continue bilateral consultations in regional and international fora to serve the common interests of the two countries, the same source reads.
