#Other Countries : Gunmen attacked a Catholic church in southwestern Nigeria’s Ondo state on Sunday, killing “several” worshipers, according to the government and police.

In a statement, Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu called on security forces to find the attackers after the incident. ,disgusting and diabolical attack,,
They attacked the church with firearms and explosives, according to state police spokesman Ibukun Odunlami.

,It is too early to say how many people have died. But many devotees lost their lives in the attack while others were injured.,he told AFP.
A witness, who gave only his first name, Abayomi, told AFP that at least 20 worshipers were killed in the attack. ,I was walking through the neighborhood when I heard a loud bang and gunshots inside the church,They said.
He said he saw at least five armed men inside the church before fleeing to safety.
The Nigerian army is deployed on many fronts in an attempt to rein in the insecurity in the country. The northeast has been witnessing a 12-year jihadist insurgency, with gangs of robbers and kidnappers terrorizing the northwest and centre, while the southeast is the scene of separatist movements.
