Newport County have completed the signing of former England U19 international Frank Nouble.
The 25 year-old forward has signed a one-year deal at Rodney Parade after the expiry of his short-term contract at Southend United.
Nouble started his professional career at West Ham in 2009 after five years with Chelsea’s youth sides, rejecting a contract from Chelsea to sign a five-year deal with the east London side.
After spending time out on loan with sides including West Brom and Swansea, the striker joined Wolves on a permanent basis in 2012.
His most successful spell at a club was with Ipswich (2013-15) where he made 56 appearances, scoring five goals.
Moves to Coventry City and Tianjin Quanjin followed, before the player made the move to his most recent club, Southend United.
County manager Micheal Flynn, speaking to Newport County’s official website said ” I’m delighted we’ve signed Frank. He’s the right age for us and I’m looking forward to getting him fully fit and getting the best out of him.
“Once we’ve got that, We’ve got a Premier League player in the making. He’s already proved his quality with West Ham and at big clubs in the Championship.
“It’s now time for Frank to get his career back on track.”
New signing Frank Nouble revealed his delight of joining County, he added “After speaking to the manager and assistant manager Wayne (Hatswell) as well, I liked the ambition here.
“I’m looking forward to every minute and second of the season and getting the opportunity to come and play some football and hopefully take this club to higher places.”
