Traffic is also being kept at the M25 clockwise for the air ambulance to land. The main motorway was seen around 5:30 this morning and a major traffic delay is expected this morning. A crane and a road sweeper are believed to have collided.

Highway England said at 1:22 a.m. that the J4’s clockwise carriageway would also be closed “due to the severity of the incident.”
The incident occurred between J5 for M26 and J4 for Orpington.
The Traffic and Travel Services INRIX said: “The M25 Anticlockwise has been shut down due to a serious accident, the road sweeper and the crane traffic involved between the J5M26 and J4 (Orpington).
“The road has been closed since 25 am to take part in the accident. There is about a mile of traffic jam on the other side, while there are queues due to spectators. Police had earlier taken traffic to J5 to warn of closure. “

Jenny Schofield Says: “M25 There are still no signs of movement on the M25, we have been affected by it and have been sitting here since 5:15 a.m., lots of emergency services are working hard and as far as you can see there is a search for traffic backups. Hope everybody is well. “
He said there was no indication as to when they would step down.
Highway England expects normal traffic to resume by 10.30am.
