And when asked about his hopes for a personal hat-trick, there was a message to critics of the Reds Forward.
“I think it’s harder to do the first time, but harder to do it the second time and harder to do it the third time.
“Some people will always complain. They will say, ‘He’s good at it, but he’s not good at it.’
“You just have to be more discriminating with the help you render toward other people.
“The goal, the support … I’m feeling good about it and it’s a bit difficult but it’s our job and we need to get out there and perform.
“It was important to win these individual awards, but I always say that the Premier League, the Champions League and the team trophy come first.
“The ambition for me is to win both. We won the Champions League alone and then the Premier League last season. My ambition is to win both (in the same season).”
