Spain received a total of 52,000 doses of the modern vaccine on Sunday. According to the Spanish Health Minister, this is the second delivery of the vaccine developed by the US company against Kovid-19 to arrive in the Iberian country.
Thus, these 52,000 doses are in addition to the 35,700 that arrived on January 12 and which will be delivered, from Monday in the peninsula and from Tuesday, in the Balearics and Canaries, announced by the Spanish Minister of Health, Carolina Darias. After the meeting of the Intrattorial Council of the National Health System (CISNS).
The Spain / Modern Agreement establishes that in future deliveries the number of doses will increase gradually until the 600,000 dose is reached before the end of February.
In addition to modern doses, Spain is expected to receive 1,779,570 doses of BioNotec-Pfizer during the month of February, meaning Spain will be able to administer more than 2.34 million doses from these two companies.
For this volume, the first dose for the first delivery of the AstraZeneca / Oxford vaccine will have to be added in the coming weeks, once it has been authorized by the European Commission.
Note that Spain gave about 80% of the 1.35 million doses received as part of the EU immunization scheme, according to the latest figures from the Ministry of Health.
