Kovid-19: France approaching 100,000 death mark

With 301 deaths on Friday 9 April at the Kovid-19 hospital, France is approaching the 100,000 death mark with 98,395 dead since the start of the Kovid-19 epidemic.

According to data from Public Health France, a total of 5,757 patients are admitted to critical care services. During the peak of the first wave, the figure had reached just over 7,000 patients by early April 2020.

The pressure on hospital services continues with 30,326 Kovid patients admitted to hospitals.

To curb the new coronavirus epidemic, the government is banking on the acceleration of the vaccination campaign, but also on restrictive measures that have strengthened.

In this way, the country succeeded in vaccinating 510,267 people on Friday, a record since the campaign began. Similarly, since the launch of this campaign in December 2020, 10,507,294 people have received at least one injection or 15.7% of the population.

France on Wednesday began local production of anti-Kovid vaccines, with a potential to reach 250 million doses by the end of the year.

Subcontractor Delpharm, with bottling of the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine, has started manufacturing the first Kovid-19 vaccines at its factories. A total of 5, including the other subcontinent, Sanofi, will have to start producing vaccines from other international laboratories in the coming weeks.

The executive has targeted to vaccinate 30 million people in the summer, including 10 million in mid-April and 20 million in mid-May.
