Kim Clijsters doesn’t want to give Coco Vandeweghe a single game in World Team Tennis

Wins by Kim Clijsters in singles and Kirsten Flipkens in mixed doubles helped the New York umpire register their second victory in eight matches over world team tennis on Monday. The New York umpire beat the San Diego Aviators 20-16.

Clijsters, 38, secured her third singles win against Coco Vandeweghe. The 29-year-old American, still ranked 9th in the world at the start of 2018 but now ranked 173rd in the WTA rankings, lost 5-0.

Then in mixed doubles, Kirsten Flipkens and American Christopher Eubanks won 5-4. Clijsters and Flipkens played a double match together, losing 5–2 to Vandeweghe and Caroline Dolehide.

New York Umpires are last in the standings with two wins and six losses. The Springfield Lasers (6z-2n) and Orange County Breakers (5z-3n) are in first and second place, respectively. Those two teams are virtually in the final which is determined after the group stage. There are still four duets on Clijsters & Co.’s program.

All matches of World Team Tennis are played at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in California. The competition will run till November 28.
