Unbeaten British featherweight Josh Warrington has shown his desire to fight domestic rival Lee Selby, stating that an offer has been sent to fight on October 21st in Leeds.
The 26 year-old, who’s from Leeds won his last outing by outpointing Kiko Martinez to announce he’s ready for world level and now wants to fight domestic rival with Selby.
“Selby’s got his eyes on [Carl] Frampton but constantly labels me ‘easy work’. If you want a warm up Lee, come and fight me. Offer is on the table,” Warrington tweeted on Tuesday evening.
He added: “An offer has being made for him to fight me in October. We are ready for it!”

Selby won the IBF title in May 2015 against Evgeny Gradovich, and since made three defences of his IBF Featherweight title. The Welshman is yet to headline his own UK show as World Champion, fighting on undercards of Anthony Joshua, David Haye and Chris Eubank JR.
Last month the Barry-born fighter claimed a successful defence with a unanimous points decision at Wembley Arena, Selby has already discussed Carl Frampton.
The Northern Irishman’s cancelled bout with Andres Gutierrez could be re-scheduled for later this year, meaning Selby may need an alternative opponent.
The Leeds fighter Warrington is more then happy to fight the Welshman. The pairs war of words goes back to last year, when Selby said the Leeds fighter had “lost his bottle” to fight him.
In May Josh Warrington was speaking to BoxNation and said: “Last year, Selby was red hot favourite as the World Champion I’d challenge.
It didn’t happen but the fight’s certainly not dead. The fight and animosity have been stewing for a while now and I’m very eager to prove all my doubters wrong.”
