The governments of France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States welcome the adoption of a resolution by the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in response to Iran’s inadequate cooperation with the IAEA, as evidenced by its NPT safeguards Necessary. Agreement on serious and unanswered questions relating to the implementation of safeguard measures. The vote on this resolution by the IAEA Board of Governors today sends a clear message to Iran that Iran needs to honor its obligations in terms of security measures, and provide a technically credible explanation for the outstanding issues related to the application . of security measures. The resolution adopted today reaffirms the Council’s support for the IAEA’s independent, professional and impartial efforts to maintain the international security order that is essential to the safety of all.

We urge Iran to heed the call of the international community to uphold its legal obligations and to cooperate with the IAEA to fully clarify and resolve these issues without delay. If Iran does so and the Director-General is able to report that the outstanding issues of security measures have been resolved, we will no longer consider it necessary for the Board to confiscate them or take any action.
