Johnson promises military aid to Ukraine in a few days

AA/Istanbul

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has pledged to send additional military aid to Ukraine in the coming days.

“I told my friend of Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky this afternoon that we will provide more military assistance to his country in the coming days,” Johnson tweeted Saturday night.

“There is nothing to stop the British from ensuring that Ukrainians have the resources to defend their country against the continuation of Russian aggression”, the British prime minister underlined.

It comes after Russia imposed sanctions on 13 former and current British officials, including Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Defense Minister Ben Wallace, according to a statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry on Saturday.

On 24 February, Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine, which was followed by international backlash and the imposition of “tough” economic and financial sanctions on Moscow.
