The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) will lead South Korea for its next World Conference on Doping in Sport, the sixth of its kind scheduled for November 2025. The body’s foundation board meeting is likely to take place in hybrid mode from Cairo on Thursday 19 May. , Egypt has decided to award the prize of organizing the event to the South Korean city of Busan. He was preferred to the other two candidates Muscat (Oman) and Tampere (Finland). The fourth candidate city, Athens (Greece), withdrew its candidacy before the vote. Busan got an absolute majority in the first round of voting. The World Conference brings together more than 1,500 representatives of athletes and the sporting movement, governments, national and regional anti-doping organizations, laboratories, service providers, researchers and the media. Previous editions took place in Lausanne (Switzerland, 1999), Copenhagen (Denmark, 2003), Madrid (Spain, 2007), Johannesburg (South Africa, 2013) and Katowice (Poland, 2019).
