Halal meat served in the cafeteria of Science Po Grenoble?

Allegations of housing a cafeteria in which only 100% Halal products are sold, Science Po Grenoble denied and announced the filing of a complaint.

“From false information, one of our sanctioned associations, Cafeten Kit, was accused of practicing discrimination by offering 100% halal dishes”, condemned director Sabine Sauger in a press release.

“On behalf of the Science Po Grenoble, I filed a complaint against the people disseminating this information,” said the director.

She specifies that the association had called in a new supplier that offered only halal meat. When Cafeten Kit realized this, he described it as “respecting the principle of secularism and neutrality does not allow communal-type meals in the IEP”. “The Director of Legal Affairs is responsible for checking the legality of the device and measures will be taken accordingly,” emphasizes Sabine Sauger.

In a press release published on Tuesday, 19 October, student union UNI was outraged that a cafeteria established on the campus of the Science Po Grenoble now only sells 100% Halal products. Invited to the Morandini Live event on CNEWS, UNI’s national representative, Remi Perad, said the choice was “decided.” We alerted the management of the students and the IEP. There was no reaction. They turn a deaf ear”. For UNI, it was “a new act of ideology and submission to awaken Islamism”.

As a reminder, the Grenoble Institute of Political Studies is the place where the identities of two professors accused of Islamophobia by some were displayed on the walls of the establishment last March. An investigation has since been opened for public disgrace.
