London Due to the sharp rise in energy prices, Great Britain wants to help its citizens with a program worth billions. Finance Minister Rishi Sunak announced on Thursday that nearly nine billion pounds (10.8 billion euros) would help 28 million families.

“I can’t stand here saying that we don’t have to adjust to higher prices,” he said. But you can at least minimize the effects. Among other things, a relief of the equivalent of 240 euros from the electricity bill is planned, but it will have to be repaid over the next five years.

High energy prices are putting pressure on governments across Europe. For example, the federal government wants to eliminate the surcharge on electricity prices before the plan to promote renewable energy (EEG surcharges) and has already decided on subsidizing heating costs for the poor.
