The 2022 Annual Meeting of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) will be held in the Ghanaian capital of Accra from 23 to 27 May.
Also funding for climate adaptation and related issues 57 . will be on the agenda for discussionAnd Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Bank Group and 48th African Development Fund Annual Meeting, AfDB Group’s concessional financing window.
The meetings will be in hybrid mode, i.e. face-to-face and by videoconferencing. The Accra International Conference Center will host “face-to-face sessions, including statutory governors of the bank meetings and knowledge-sharing events.”
“Fostering Climate Resilience and a Just Energy Transition for Africa” is the theme of the meeting. During these annual meetings, bank governors will have the opportunity to “share their views on the challenges of climate change and energy transition facing their countries”.
They will also try to find solutions to these challenges. An exchange of governors representing 54 African countries and the 27 non-regional member states of the institution is planned, which will be led by Akinwumi Adisina, President of the African Development Bank Group.
