IDF said projects fired by Palestinians on Friday were neutralized by the “Iron Dome” missile shield.
Two rockets were launched into Israel by Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and intercepted by the Israeli Missile Shield, the IDF said shortly after the alarm system sounded in the southern Hebrew state on Friday.
The siren of warning sounded shortly before in the southern port city of Ashkelon and in areas surrounding the Palestinian enclave under the Israeli blockade, the military said in a statement.
“Two rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory (…) and intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system,” the military said.
Israeli medical emergencies indicated that many people in shock had received their services.
The last rocket fire from Gaza was over a month ago, under the control of Islamist Hamas in Israeli territory.
Hamas and Israel have fought three wars (2008, 2012, 2014). Despite a tension in recent months, the two sides collide sporadically with rocket fire from Gaza and retaliation from the Israeli military.
