France / Covid: Vaccine campaign opens for new occupations, joins 7 million people

The vaccine campaign against Kovid-19 continues its accelerated pace in France by opening new businesses, with no age limit, or an associated 7 million people from this Monday.

Anti-Kovid vaccination has been expanded to include educational staff such as teachers, police, military and customs, but also for bus drivers, taxi drivers, cleaning agents, cashiers, hotel employees, tobacco sellers, or sports hall employees. These businesses are now considered a priority.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Jean Castex announced a new acceleration of the vaccination program, with the opening of vaccination for all adults earlier than expected from 31 May. On Friday, the symbolic bar of a third vaccination in France was exceeded.

According to the Public Health France daily report, on the hospital front, 19,720 people were still hospitalized on Sunday due to Kovid-19, including 3,515 in critical care, which confirms the downward trend of the epidemic in France . In addition, 70 new deaths were recorded in 24 hours, the lowest since October 11.

Finally, 9,704 cases were identified in the last 24 hours, whereas last Sunday, 13,948 cases were identified, a decrease of 21%. The average of cases over the past seven days is 12,877, the lowest level since Christmas.

Similarly, a total of 172,516 new people received the first dose of the vaccine, making a total of 32,787,607 people receiving at least one dose.
