LONDON (AP) – Premier League-promoted FC Brentford is about to sign uncontracted Danish football player Christian Eriksson, according to British media reports.
Accordingly, the 29-year-old should be in Table-14. London has signed a six-month contract with an option for another season.
According to information received from Sky, Ericsson, who has been kept in a defibrillator after cardiac arrest, will first undergo an extensive medical examination. Accordingly, a cardiologist must approve the Dane to be registered as a Premier League player before he can play. Ericsson also requires a UK work permit.
Ericsson collapsed during the group game against Finland at last year’s European Championships and had to revive. The midfielder’s contract with Inter Milan was later terminated as he was not allowed to play in Italy’s Serie A with a defibrillator.
Ericsson had recently confirmed his ambition to return to football and expressed his hopes of playing Denmark at the World Cup in Qatar later this year. In England, he played for Tottenham Hotspur from 2013 to 2020. He played more than 300 matches for Spurs.
