The challenge of EXPLORiT is to combine business and leisure in Yverdon-les-Bains.
This “hybrid” activity center covers 14,000 square meters in the center of Y-Park, the science and technology park of Thermal City. Due to the Covid period, it quietly opened its doors at the beginning of the year.

In its business part, EXPLORiT offers a coworking space with open offices and a prototyping workshop. “We are banking on the needs of Y-Park and the area”, explains Elodie Vaquet, marketing and communications specialist for the place. EXPLORiT relies on a wide range of leisure activities to make the campus profitable. Edutainment Spaces offers families, over two floors, workshops and exhibitions on space exploration, science and ecology. There are also five cinemas and a stage where concerts can be held. From September, a space dedicated to virtual reality games and competitions will also arrive. e-sports. “We expect to attract 100,000 visitors per year to our leisure area, and approximately 500,000 visitors to the entire building,” says Elodie Vaquet.

Sandrine and Jean-Christophe Gostanian are the creators of EXPLORiT. These Marseille entrepreneurs have been based in Zurich for many years. He is also the founder of KinderCity in Volketswil (ZH). The couple and several partners have invested approximately 80 million francs. A small fraction is the responsibility of the canton of Y-Parc and Vaud. The latter exclusively finances educational exhibitions. The City of Yverdon-les-Bains also donated a wind tree which supplies energy to some offices. /dsa
