Newport County are keen on a move for former Swansea City goalkeeper Oliver Davies.
The 22 year-old, formely of Swansea City, who he played for in the academy is believed to be a target for the Exiles and fellow League Two outfit Yeovil Town.
Davies was released by the Swans last season after having two loan spells with Scottish outfit Kilmarnock.
And it has been reported by former manager Peter Beadle that the Exiles are interested in securing the goalkeeper’s signature.
Following Davies’ release by the Swans, the goalkeeper spent last season on loan at Merthyr Town, helping them to a third place finish in the Evo-Stick Southern Premier, before being beaten by Hitchin Town in the play-off semi-final.
Hereford manager Beadle was speaking to the Hereford Times regarding the offers he has received for the former Swans academy shot-stopper.
He said: “Ollie has had an offer from Yeovil to do a week there. I spoke to him on Thursday and they wanted him there until the end of the week.
“I then spoke to him [on Friday] to ask if he was with us and Yeovil wanted him to play in their game at Frome today [on Saturday] and I think they were going to make a decision then.
“But he also said that Newport had made an offer. So either way, he was going to take one or the other.
“So unfortunately, Ollie has moved on, which is a shame. I’m disappointed because we worked hard to get him here and was looking forward to seeing him work.
But I understand why he’s done it because he wants to go back to first team football.”
