In five consecutive seasons between 1970-7 and the mid-1980s, the league championship trophy has passed across Stanley Park and a football legend thinks Carlo Angelotti’s surprise package could be the closest rival to their neighbors to hold the crown of this Premier League? .

Everton are 12th last season – their lowest Premier League position in 16 years – but they are unbeaten and top of the table after a 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Saturday.

Lloyds United icon Johnny Giles who played 527 games for the Yorkshire club, who won the treasure of honor including the title brace, the Blues are now the real deal.

The Irishman told OTB Sports:

“There’s a big, big plus for Everton [Dominic] Colvert-Lewin is doing what he is doing. She’s an old fashion center-forward – big, strong, brave and she’s getting supplies.

“[Ancelotti] Corner kicks, free kicks and a wide range of balls – the ball is reaching him at every opportunity.

“I believe [Duncan] Ferguson is working with him, and he’s also gained confidence. He had this reputation as a good boy, but he didn’t score goals.

“Now that he has a few under his belt, it gives him confidence that he can do it. He’s a player.

“I think Everton could be the closest team to Liverpool this season. They just need a number of players; if injured, [Ancelotti] Slightly thinner on the players.

“I think Everton is the real direction now.”
