Emma Radukanu talks about her passion for cars.

Young British player Emma Radukanu has stored the season on concrete and is ready to face her first adventure on clay. The winner of the US Open 2021 gave an interview to the organizers of her next competition, the Stuttgart tournament.

She said: “I still remember fully bathing in the fountain in front of Cologne Cathedral, after winning a junior tournament in Düren and then an ad Hamburg in 2017.

We were visiting the Rhine Valley and the Moselle Valley. So I have good memories in Germany. I am happy to play my first WTA tournament on clay. It’s good that this is the Porsche Grand Prix of tennis.

I have followed this event since I was little and for me it has always been an event where the winner gets a Porsche. It was something unique and it stuck in my mind.

Ever since I joined the circuit, I’ve heard a lot of positive things about this competition. I know it’s one of the most popular tournaments on the calendar, and it’s no surprise: Who doesn’t want to win a Porsche?”

The young Englishwoman’s motivation is to beat the best players: “It will be a challenge, but I have already won matches against some of these athletes in my little experience on tour.

Adding more would be very important, especially on clay where I have little experience as there are no courts in the UK. With the French Open at its peak this season, it will be an interesting challenge, I can’t wait.”

About his passion for engines: “I started very early, when I was a little girl of 6, to go karting. It made me feel different from other boys and girls in a very special and positive way.

I had a lot of fun when I started getting better and started believing in myself. Motocross was more difficult than karting. But it was also a lot of fun because, let’s face it, what kid doesn’t like getting dirty in the mud?” he concluded.
