ECOWAS sanctions: Senegal denies information about opening borders with Mali

#senegal : The Presidency of the Republic of Senegal on Sunday denied information shared on social networks about the opening of the borders between Senegal and Mali.

Blaming the transitional authorities for not fulfilling their commitments regarding the conduct of the election, ECOWAS had decided to close the borders of Mali to its member states as well as an economic and financial embargo.

The Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) has also suspended its financial aid to Mali and froze its assets, reducing the state’s investment potential.
