DRC: Tshisekedi’s security advisor transferred to Makala prison

#Other Countries : Congolese President Felix Tshisekedi’s “Monsieur Security” was transferred to Kinshasa’s Makala prison after two months of detention at the National Intelligence Agency (ANR) compound, we learned from a group of activists on Tuesday.

The Special Adviser to the Head of State on Security, François Beya Kasongo was arrested on 5 February by the Civil Intelligence Service of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) ANR.

On 8 February, the President of the Congo announced that ANR investigators were against Beya. ,Serious evidence of acts against national security,,

François Biya, 67, was the head of the Directorate General of Migration (DGM) under the regime of former President Joseph Kabila (2001-2019), before becoming President Tshisekedi’s “Monsieur Security” in 2019.

He remained in the position despite a late-2020 break between Tshisekedi and his predecessor, after two years of conflicting co-management of the country.
