Brendon Rogers says Demarai Gray may have to leave Leicester City in search of more play time while talking to Mercury between Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.
It’s been five years since he once traveled 40 miles to Leicester across the amazing Midlands of Birmingham City.
However, claiming Premier League winners medals and playing Champions League football at King Power, you can’t help but feel frustrated during Lyses Gray’s time.
Lacking the final product still lags behind him, the former England U21 international started just three league games in the final.
And his time on the pitch will be further cut by the Rodgers acknowledging his interest under “extremely talented” Roma skimmer Senjiz Under.
“(Whether or not the gray leaves leave) will depend on it,” Rogers says.
“But he is now 24. It will be up to him whether he wants to continue his role here or be a starter. While he is here, he will be respected for his quality.”
You don’t need to be a psychologist to figure out what you wouldn’t imagine for any time soon as Rodgers Gray Star.
But if the former Liverpool boss is not a believer, then Steve Bruce is definitely there. The Telegraph reports that the Newcastle manager is a huge fan of Gray and would love to sign a player whose fast pace makes him a perfect fit for counter-attacking football.
Tottenham were also linked to a long-term target through the Times in August – but then Gareth Bale’s return seemed a bit more than a pipe dream.
Gray was out of Leicester’s side for Sunday’s 3-0 win over West Brom.
