Arwen has been accompanied by strong wind gusts, rain and snow since Friday afternoon. Officials warned the people of Britain by issuing Rare Code Red. It means deadly severe weather is coming. That code red ended on Saturday morning, according to Sky News, but Britons were also advised to travel only when absolutely necessary.
The drivers on the road also faced problems. Police said the 120 lorry “got stuck in the snow” on England’s M62 motorway. In British media, images are of torn roofs of houses and streets blocked by trees and other debris, like a large trampoline lying upside down in a street.
All three died when a tree fell. A tree fell on a car in Antrim, Northern Ireland, killing a school principal. A man from Lancaster crashed into a tree in Ambleside, England. According to the police, he died on the spot. In Aberdeenshire, Scotland, a 35-year-old motorist died after a tree fell on his car.
