Wales manager Chris Coleman has revealed his side will have to win all four remaining games in order to qualify for the 2018 World Cup automatically.
The Dragons put in a determined performance in Belgrade to gain a point against Serbia.
Aaron Ramsey gave Wales the lead through a fantastic Aaron Ramsey panenka penalty kick after Sam Vokes was impeded in the penalty area, but Coleman’s side were pegged back as Aleksandar Mitrovic slotted home past the helpless Wayne Hennessey.
The result leaves Wales four points adrift off the top of the Group D standings, and Coleman believes Wales will have to win all four remaining games in order to qualify for the World Cup automatically.
Wales next face austria at home and will welcome back the absent Gareth Bale after he was suspended for the trip to Belgrade, before travelling to Moldova and Georgia.
The Welsh Dragons will then host the Republic of Ireland in their final Group D encounter in the hope of still being in with a chance of qualifying for the World Cup automatically.
This is the first time in Wales’ history that they’ve drawn five games on the bounce, but will be hoping to turn them draws into wins when heading into their final four games of the group.
Coleman’s men aren’t faced with the easiest of tasks, but if they show the same kind of drive and determination which saw them reach the semi-final of the European Championships just a year ago.
They’re more than capable of pulling it out of the bag and winning all four of their games in order to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia automatically.
