China-Pakistan cooperation: Islamabad committed to its strengthening, S.  Sharif remembers

Elected as the 23rd Prime Minister of the country on Monday and sworn in on the same day, S. Sharif took the pledge during a meeting with d’affaires Pang Chunxue, in-charge of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, at the Prime Minister’s residence in Islamabad.

The Pakistani Prime Minister said that the unbreakable friendship between Islamabad and Beijing is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people of both countries, adding that Pakistan considers China as its best friend and cherishes the traditional friendship with the Chinese people.

Sharif said Pakistan and China support each other and have mutually beneficial cooperation, setting an excellent example of relations between different countries. He said he appreciates the continued progress made by the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a flagship project of China’s proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and its importance to the country’s economic development and prosperity.

s. Sharif said his government was ready to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of agriculture, science and technology, education and poverty reduction, as well as pursue the construction of the CPEC with greater vigor and efficiency so that both the countries and the His people benefit more.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chinese diplomat said that China and Pakistan are strategic cooperation partners enjoying flawless relations. He said China looks forward to working closely with the new Pakistani government to maintain traditional friendship, enhance strategic exchanges, advance CPEC construction and build a China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.
