BTS again big winner MTV Europe Music Awards

The seven-member K-pop group won awards in the categories Best Group, Best Pop, Best K-Pop and Biggest Fan. The Best Artist award went to the UK with Ed Sheeran, as did the award for Best Song. Ed later won for the world hit Bad Habits. The British singer also opened the show with her new single Overpass Graffiti, which was broadcast live in 180 countries.

Song Festival winner Moneskin also performed on Sunday during the live show from Hungary. The Italians also won their first MTV EMA with the Best Rock award. He stole prizes from Coldplay, Foo Fighters and Kings of Leon, among others. Show host Sweety was also felicitated. The 28-year-old American rapper took home the best new category.

Awards also went to Lil Nas X (Best Video for Montero), Nicki Minaj (Best Hip-Hop), Olivia Rodrigo (Best Push) and Maluma (Best Latin). The award for Best Choice went to British rock artist Yungblood. Best collaboration went to Doja Cat ft. SZA for the song Kiss Me More. David Guetta took home the award for Best Electronic, and singer-songwriter Billie Eilish was awarded Video for Good.

German Kim Petras’ performance is set to be her first as a trans artist at the MTV EMAs. She sang a medley of two new songs, Coconut and Hit It From The Back. The second was for the five winners of the first MTV EMA Generation Change Award. These awards were presented for the first time this year to youth committed to the acceptance of the LGBTQI+ community.
