Bad news for people who share Netflix account with their parents, neighbors, friends. A lot of people do this now, because Netflix has a limit on how many devices you can stream and watch at the same time, but not on the number of homes where those devices are located.
Some US users receive notifications from Netflix asking them to verify that they live in the same household as the account holder.
The message reads: “If you do not live with the owner of this account, you will need your own account to continue viewing.”
Users are then asked to use a code sent to the account owner or emailed to continue.
Netflix apparently wants to prevent people from sharing subscriptions at different addresses.
The Netflix Terms and Conditions state, “The Netflix Service and any content viewed through the Service is for personal, non-commercial use only and may not be shared with anyone outside of your home.”
Apparently, Netflix is looking at working on that provision. Then the service becomes too expensive for millions of Netflix users
